Poetry Becomes the Pattern

Most brands start with a mood board. BKS Studio starts with a line.

BKS Verse is the house's way of turning language into cloth. You write a verse — any language, any form, twenty to two hundred and eighty characters. A judge that has read the whole canon, from Sappho to Celan, from Bashō to Neruda, reads it back on five axes: imagery, voice, tension, resonance and form.

Score twenty out of twenty-five, and the studio builds a garment around it. The words become a print. The print becomes a piece. You wrote it — and the world wears it.

This is not a slogan on a tee. It is the opposite: the poem comes first, and the object is its proof. Poetry defends itself — either it finds a form in an object, or it stays just a verse.
